My week 2.

These are my notes that I have made in the last week. It’s been very productive for me, although the younger players would of done all this in an hour. I however, make sure I take notes and go over things time and time again. I want all the information before I set off playing and I’m a firm believer of being able to walk before you run. There will be time for poker later.......

Making my payments to BPC - I scroll down to Finances and click the link, from there I can pay the monthly 50% PROFIT. No profit means no payment.

Where does Poker money come from - Fish mainly, but you need to beat the regulars to, all of them!

You lose a minimum of 10BB per 100 at the lower limits through rake. So site selection is important. There’s no point playing on Stars at the lower levels because of the increase in rake you pay.

Concentrate on VPIP and not the PFR. It’s been proven that the PFR is misleading and all we want are the high VPIP players.
Target players who have a minimum 40 VPIP, if there’s two at the table it’s even better. The stats tell us they are 50BB losing players, hence why we need attack them.
Apparently you are suppose to bum hunt for players with a minimum 40VPIP. How you do that without any history is beyond me at the moment, but Gordon keeps going on about finding these types of players. If you get this wrong, he says you can be kicked out of the program. It seems, what’s the point in trying to beat a table full of regs, but he doesn’t say what to do if there are no players on the limit you are playing on a poker site.
Gordon seems to drill this home that if there is not a player with a VPIP 40 minimum, who are supposed to leave the table. You risk getting kicked off the program if you stay at the table....... But you can’t make players be a VPIP 40. How are you supposed to know if you have no data or notes, if of course HUDs are allowed.
I emailed about this and the reply was - you will not know which are 40 VPIP in the beginning, but after playing like 100 hands at that table (or even faster if you are paying attention to your opponents) you will have a pretty good idea of what your opponents playing styles are. After playing more you will also get a database  and this can help you too

Posting hands on the forum. There’s a set way of posting hands and below is the copied and pasted rule.
Post the hand history firstand the questions BELOW . In the screenshot, the user posted the questions and his answer first and then the hand, which is wrong. FIRST the hand, Question SECOND.

That’s the welcome video section complete. I will start going through the videos of the program next and make notes.

PreFlop

H2N- Hand to Note is a tracker that is supposed to be better than both PT4 & HM2. The good thing about H2N is that it is free for players who play below 25NL, although after that level it is more expensive than the other trackers.
Personally I do not play higher than 25NL anyway so I do not need to worry about the cost.

Delayed CBet

In this video, I observed the delayed CBet with hero. The play goes like this - Villain raises and we call with a hand preflop. After the flop the villain who raised now checks after we check to the raiser. The turn card we now lead (the delayed CBet) with about 65% pot. Villain will most likely fold and if he does call we have to make a decision on the river. We only do this delayed C-Bet when we have some value in our hand. Don’t do this at every opportunity with bluffs because we will quickly get sussed out. So we must have some value in our hand to carry out this play.

Week 3 updates

I continue to study and make notes. This is the new stuff I’ve learned since the last update. Still not played Poker, instead concentrating on my studies. I have now downloaded the Hand2Note poker tracker. I think I have also incorporated the BPC hud but will need to double check that. The Golden Formula (Pre-flop) This is the only way to play poker, we need to %winning > % of total pot invested.  An example is - we are facing a $50 river bet and there’s $100 in the pot already. So we need to be correct 25% of the time (1 in 4) to make this a winning call. We may know we are beat 75%, but the call is still the correct play. This needs to be drilled into the mind because it’s such an important lesson. $100 in the pot already + Villain $50 & our $50 = $200. Our call bet of $50 is then divided by the pot to give us the pot odds 1 in 4 which is 25%. Break even threshold means - Required % to win on a bluff. We make a $50 bet on the river (bluffing) int...

First Post

I have decided to take on my first CFP at BestPokerCoaching.com and see if it can improve my game. I’ve played for 19 years now and since the accident now 10 years ago with the Back Op, my playing hours have almost stopped. However, this CFP contract is a minimum 300 playing hrs in a year long. But even for me that’s pushing it but I’m prepared to give it a go. I joined last Saturday night which is the 24th August and just 5 days ago. I’ve paid the security deposit of €250 which is refundable once the contract is complete. To complete the contract, I must win over €5000 net. With BPC I should have all the tools to breeze through it, but we shall see. I am also taking notes to maximise my opportunity and go back over things that I believe will help me complete this journey. So far no poker, I’m in no rush at all to get going, I’d rather take it all in, take notes, write the blog and see how it runs first. If you’ve played for the amount of time I have, you tend to slow down anyway. ...
